Love’s Challenge
by: Angel
My heart is a sky
Once a time it was just a blank sky;
No bird was allowed to fly in my heart;
No rose permitted to grow in one part;
Was kept it cold, no heat for others;
Not even to care how unjust it bothers.
All left it alone, all but its pride;
Too dark did it live to notice other guide.
Yet love is a gift, a gift from God
Eagerly she traps one who is more proud.
Secretly permeates and in time by and by
She can change the weather and colour of the Sky.
My poor heart was asleep at the time
When the Love was doing this crime.
Astonished, it blinked and believed not the scene
Never seen such place even in its dream.
I was then invited to the scene by my heart
Speechless looking at the beauty and the art
In figures of a love God offered to my heart
I stepped on the stage and revel did start:
The sunshine made it all so bright
My eyes yet couldn’t bear such a light
With shut eyes I stepped on the land
My feet felt wet grass and my hand
Gently caressing the face of flowers
Who all seemed returning from morning showers.
So salty the breeze did smell
Then I heard the sea waves clamour.
As the beech sands were felt by my feet
Eyes opened, surprised, did I meet
Endless sea stormy and roaring
Mighty wind made the large waves soaring.
I scaped, frightened by that see
The storm didn’t look safe to me.
The love had two faces, calm and stern
And my heart had to match or be slain
The poor thing too lazy to try
Admitted: “I never want to die.”
Simply it expelled the pure love
Who kindly had bestowed life and light.
How thoughtless one must be to deny
The God’s gift and expect going by
The hours and the days will rebuild
The sky, and it lives as it did.
Unaware when the love’s light is sent out of heart
Other lights can’t be fit to fill her empty part.
Now my heart living in pure darkness
And still too proud to confess
Its mistake, is sorry and eager for the love
To honour and return,
Nothing will come above.
O dear love! pray do come
Revive my heart another time.
